(Continued from last week) Heliconias make excellent table and floor fresh flower arrangements and can be found in hotel lobbies, malls, banks, churches and reception halls.

The Bluff/De Buff

De Buff, a little village along a dam parallel to the Canal Number Two public road, is listed in the Guyana Gazetteer as The Bluff, but villagers are sticking with the name they know and point to their village sign as evidence.

The beautiful heliconia

Heliconias are magnificent and beautiful. A few years ago there were approximately 20 species of heliconia grown in the Caribbean; today, there are more than 400 species in cultivation.

Moments in music

Someone approached me out of the blue this week outside a store on Sheriff Street to ask for advice on the music business; he was not a musician, but interested in recording and was wondering how to proceed.
