Nadal rides out Kyrgios challenge to reach quarter-finals

MELBOURNE, (Reuters) – Rafa Nadal suffered his first lost set of the tournament but rode out a challenge from a wholly committed Nick Kyrgios to move into the quarter-finals of the Australian Open for the 12th time with a 6-3 3-6 7-6(6) 7-6(4) victory yesterday.

Kobe, daughter die in helicopter crash

(Reuters) – The sporting world was plunged into mourning yesterday as news of Kobe Bryant’s death in a helicopter crash spread leaving the rich and famous, presidents, Hall of Famers and ordinary fans stunned.

Jaguars beat Red Force by 219 runs

Guyana Jaguars took less than an hour to claim Trinidad and Tobago Red Force’s final four wickets to win their third round Cricket West Indies Regional four-day clash by 219 runs at the National Stadium, Providence yesterday.

Part of the quarterfinal action on Saturday at the Amelia’s Ward Hardcourt in the Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ Linden Championship between defending champion High Rollers and Silver Bullets.
