The reach of music

Just back from four performances in Grand Cayman, I spent what was truly an exhilarating evening doing what I would have to describe as a “musical presentation” to a great audience at Moray House dealing with my contention of “No Music Like Calypso”.

Duo seeking to have intent-to-defraud GRDB charges quashed

Former Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Prema Ramanah-Roopnarine and business consultant Badrie Persaud have filed applications in the High Court asking for the intent to defraud charge against them which arose out of the forensic audit of the Guyana Rice Development Board (GRDB) quashed due to the failure of the prosecution to disclose a copy of the audit report to them.

Petra Organisation abandons Futsal final replay

Following consultation with sponsors Top Brandz Distributors and the two finalists Bent Street and Sparta Boss, the Petra Organization has decided to abandon the replay of their Corona Futsal Final and split the first and second prize monies equally between the teams.

Mayhem at sea

On April 27th, 2018 off the coast of Suriname, there was an attack by pirates on four fishing boats manned  by Guyanese most of whom were living in Suriname.
