Major oil and gas projects moving ahead

With Guyana being described as the “sunshine of oil countries” by one investor, a number of oil and gas projects are forging ahead here despite the contraction of the global economy due to the fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic, and Minister of Natural Resources Vickram Bharrat sees this as indicative of confidence in this country, its governance and economy.

Pollard tastes defeat as Mumbai lose opener

ABU DHABI, United Arab Emirates,  CMC – Kieron Pollard tasted defeat for the first time in 13 matches as reigning Indian Premier League champions, Mumbai Indians, crashed to a five-wicket defeat to Chennai Super Kings in the tournament curtain-raiser here yesterday.

Pompeo’s visit

The Opposition’s theory in relation to US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s visit to Guyana, appeared to be that the US could or may be contemplating an invasion of, or some sort of intervention in, Venezuela and that if Guyana were to get involved, it would somehow jeopardize Guyana’s current case in the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
