Lightning strikes Corentyne fishing boat, man missing

During the wee hours of yesterday, lightning struck a small fishing boat in the Corentyne River leaving a Fyrish fisherman missing and two others traumatised As of yesterday afternoon fisherfolk and the Coast Guard were continuing the search for Hemnarine Chandradeo also known as ‘Ravin’, 28, of Fyrish Village, Corentyne.

Argentina shaken by assassination attempt on vice president

BUENOS AIRES,  (Reuters) – Hundreds of thousands of Argentines descended on the capital’s main plaza yesterday in a show of solidarity against a shocking assassination attempt on the country’s vice president a day earlier, which triggered an outpouring of support in a country gripped by deep political polarization and economic crisis.
