Gov’t seeking $3.35b more for COVID fight

Following the end of the parliamentary recess, the Government has approached the National Assembly for over $26.5b in supplementary funding for a number of areas including $3.35b for the  COVID-19 fight and $755m to battle flooding.

Prosecutor says comments on potential bias in political trials misconstrued

Prosecutor Darshan Ramdhani QC has said that attorney-at-law Nigel Hughes has misconstrued his reasons for asking that Principal Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus proceed with a summary trial for the former, Chief Election Officer (CEO) Keith Lowenfield, Deputy CEO Roxanne Myers and Region Four Returning Officer Clairmont Mingo, who are charged with misconduct in public office.
