At about 0235h. today, the police say that Noel Luther, 20 years, of D’urban Street, Georgetown, was confronted by two men at Quamina and Carmichael Streets, Georgetown, during which one of them shot him to the chest and they escaped.

Steps afoot to clear Guyana agri produce for Brazil

Steps are to be taken to enable Guyana’s agricultural produce to enter Brazil following a meeting on Saturday in Boa Vista between Agriculture Minister Noel Holder and an advisor to the Governor of Roraima GINA said that Holder while engaged in talks with the former Governor and current Special Advisor to the Governor of Roraima, Neudo Ribeiro Campos expressed Guyana’s support for any efforts aimed at fostering closer cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

Cuba-US relations in changing US diplomacy

As a continuing majority of the countries of the Caribbean Community have continued to maintain normal relations with Cuba, especially over the many years when Cold War relations between the US and that country were most intense, our governments will no doubt feel a certain justification as the two countries have now proceeded with a gradual evolution of their relations towards a full and formal exchange of ambassadorial representatives.
