Police issue fog/smoke warning for East Bank

Traffic Chief Senior Superintendent Mahendra Singh is urging Motorists to use their ‘hazard’ lights, be cautious and drive at a moderate speed due to the heavy fog/smoke affecting visibility in areas along the East Bank and in Georgetown.

Brazilian pleads guilty to causing death by dangerous driving

Casmero Cyril Juan, a 26-year-old from Boa Vista, Brazil, who was involved in a fatal accident on Friday 22nd March, 2024 on Barrack Retreat Public Road, Lethem Commercial Zone appeared yesterday before Magistrate Omadatt Chandan at the Lethem Magistrate’s Court, where he pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving and other offences.
