GuySuCo seeking private planters for 25% of land

Even as the government remains mum on the reasons for the decision, the Guyana Sugar Corporation (GuySuCo) has invited persons to invest in some 25 per cent of the corporation’s lands to plant sugar cane and supply it to their Albion, Blairmont, Rose Hall, and Uitvlugt estates, according to a request for Expressions of Interest.

The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) has secured four scholarships for national youth players Brandon Solomon, Antwone Vasconcellos, Rajan Ramdeholl, and Marcus Tudor to attend St Jago High School, in Jamaica, and become fixtures in the institution’s u19 squad for the Manning Cup, which is also known as the ISSA High School Championship.

Audi to enter Formula One from 2026

SPA-FRANCORCHAMPS, Belgium,  (Reuters) – Audi will enter Formula One from 2026 with one of the sport’s existing teams and using a new power unit to be built in Germany, it announced yesterday.

Transformation and tomatoes

This week an article in Stabroek News listed the price of tomatoes at currently $600 a lb and suggested that demand from onshore and offshore oil workers was driving up costs for this and perhaps other vegetables, many of which have increased even more than tomatoes which were once selling for $140/lb in March 2017.
