Trinbago Knight Riders 208/6 (Pooran 102, Russell 39,; Holder 2/39, Ahmad 1/27) beat Barbados Royals 166/7 (Mayers 70, Evans 20, van der Merwe 20; Salamkheil 2/18, Hosein 2/21) by 42 runs (CPL) Trinbago Knight Riders last night earned a valuable win as they defeated Barbados Royals by 42 runs in the 2023 Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

Dear Editor, I refer to your paper’s lead story titled: “Appeal court rejects Jagdeo’s latest bid to avoid paying judgment to Ferguson – damages to be set at new hearing” (SN Sept 5th) – and wish to comment as follows: This case is about information Jagdeo might have received in 2019 and something he might have said relating to Minister Ferguson allegedly receiving property improperly.

Last Saturday, while witnessing the harvesting of a bio-fortified rice variety at Lesbeholden, Black Bush Polder, Berbice in the presence of farmers, officials from Caricom and the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture, Minister of Agriculture Zulfikar Mustapha declared that India’s ban on rice exports would open the market for Guyana.
