I too am yet to receive any funding from any of our governments

Dear Editor, In reference to Terry Gajraj who publicly complained about the fact that he has not been recognized by our government as a Guyanese singer performing extensively in North America and Mahadeo Shivraj who similarly complained of the fact that he has produced some seven full length commercial films without any government support, both of whom I have worked with and I welcome them to the club.

Trinidad business leaders call for return of hangman as crime spirals

(Trinidad Guardian) Bring back the hangman. This was the call from MovieTowne owner Derek Chin, Arima Business Association president Christian Rampersad and Chaguanas Chamber president Baldath Maharaj on Wednesday, as they expressed the growing concern and frustration conveyed by their colleagues over the country’s spiralling crime, the latest being the murder of another businessman during a carjacking in Chaguanas.

Dear Editor, Shell Mohammed says “his son Azruddin’s  Ferrari was held by US Customs” and Azruddin himself boasted of ownership on his Facebook page and said the Ferrari was  “inexplicably detained” on the grounds of allegations made to foreign law enforcement about himself, family, and company but was released, following court proceedings” and yet this very Ferrari in contention was imported into Guyana under the name Hana Mohammed (Azruddin’s sibling) using a remigrant duty-free concession.

A continuing problem
